From time to time, we retire selected gowns to make way for new collections and refreshed versions of our classic designs.
Our Sample Sale offers a rare opportunity to purchase an authentic Gwendolynne gown at a reduced price. These pieces have previously appeared in runway shows, editorial photo shoots, media features, or have been lovingly used in our Fitzroy atelier as prototype samples for brides to try on.
The collection includes archive pieces, press samples, past collections and selected current designs that are being updated or refined. As every Gwendolynne gown is individually handcrafted, these are the only gowns that are available exactly as they are, with no additional sizing or made-to-order options.
Most Sample Sale gowns suit Australian sizes 8–10, with a limited selection ranging from size 6–12.
Because many gowns have been altered for fashion shows or photo shoots, the labelled size may not always reflect standard sizing. Some styles have additional room through the hips and seat, making them particularly flattering for pear-shaped silhouettes, while others may require alterations to achieve the perfect fit.
As with any sample sale, finding the ideal gown can involve a little luck. We recommend allowing for standard bridal alterations such as hems, straps or minor fit adjustments when planning your budget.

To make the most of your appointment, we recommend creating a shortlist of your favourite gowns before you visit. Saving screenshots or noting the style names allows us to prepare your selections in advance and ensure you have the best possible experience.
Sample Sale gowns are available to view and purchase exclusively from our Melbourne flagship atelier.
For brides unable to visit us in person, we regularly assist clients throughout Australia and internationally. We are happy to provide additional photographs, measurements and condition reports via email. As these gowns have been previously worn for fittings, editorials or runway presentations, some may show minor signs of wear or small imperfections, all of which will be discussed before purchase.
